Understanding the Importance of Tajweed in Salah

Salah is our daily conversation with Allah. Reciting the Quran correctly during prayer is of utmost importance. Here is why Tajweed is essential:

Tajweed literally means "improvement" or "to make beautiful." In the context of Quranic recitation, it refers to giving every letter its right in terms of pronunciation (Makhraj) and characteristics (Sifat).

A simple mistake in pronunciation can alter the entire meaning of a word. For example, changing a "Haa" (ح) to a "Haa" (ه) can change the meaning from "Praise" to "Death". Therefore, learning basic Tajweed is an individual obligation (Fard al-Ayn) for every Muslim to ensure their prayers are correct.
