Al-Mulk - 1 Page 562

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ تَبَٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِى بِيَدِهِ ٱلْمُلْكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌ

EN Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent -

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ UR

Al-Mulk - 2 Page 562

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَٱلْحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًۭا ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْغَفُورُ

EN [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving -

الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ UR

Al-Mulk - 3 Page 562

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٍۢ طِبَاقًۭا ۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مِن تَفَٰوُتٍۢ ۖ فَٱرْجِعِ ٱلْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورٍۢ

EN [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?

الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا ۖ مَا تَرَىٰ فِي خَلْقِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ مِنْ تَفَاوُتٍ ۖ فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَىٰ مِنْ فُطُورٍ UR

Al-Mulk - 4 Page 562

ثُمَّ ٱرْجِعِ ٱلْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ يَنقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْبَصَرُ خَاسِئًۭا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٌۭ

EN Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.

ثُمَّ ارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ يَنْقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ الْبَصَرُ خَاسِئًا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٌ UR

Al-Mulk - 5 Page 562

وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَٰهَا رُجُومًۭا لِّلشَّيَٰطِينِ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

EN And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.

وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا رُجُومًا لِلشَّيَاطِينِ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ السَّعِيرِ UR

Al-Mulk - 6 Page 562

وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

EN And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination.

وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ UR

Al-Mulk - 7 Page 562

إِذَآ أُلْقُوا۟ فِيهَا سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا شَهِيقًۭا وَهِىَ تَفُورُ

EN When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up.

إِذَا أُلْقُوا فِيهَا سَمِعُوا لَهَا شَهِيقًا وَهِيَ تَفُورُ UR

Al-Mulk - 8 Page 562

تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ ۖ كُلَّمَآ أُلْقِىَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌۭ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌۭ

EN It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?"

تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ ۖ كُلَّمَا أُلْقِيَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌ UR

Al-Mulk - 9 Page 562

قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَآءَنَا نَذِيرٌۭ فَكَذَّبْنَا وَقُلْنَا مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ كَبِيرٍۢ

EN They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'"

قَالُوا بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَاءَنَا نَذِيرٌ فَكَذَّبْنَا وَقُلْنَا مَا نَزَّلَ اللَّهُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ كَبِيرٍ UR

Al-Mulk - 10 Page 562

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِىٓ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

EN And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze."

وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ UR

Al-Mulk - 11 Page 562

فَٱعْتَرَفُوا۟ بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسُحْقًۭا لِّأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

EN And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze.

فَاعْتَرَفُوا بِذَنْبِهِمْ فَسُحْقًا لِأَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ UR

Al-Mulk - 12 Page 562

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَيْبِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌۭ وَأَجْرٌۭ كَبِيرٌۭ

EN Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَيْبِ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ UR

Al-Mulk - 13 Page 563

وَأَسِرُّوا۟ قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ ٱجْهَرُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ

EN And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

وَأَسِرُّوا قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ اجْهَرُوا بِهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ UR

Al-Mulk - 14 Page 563

أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ

EN Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted?

أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ UR

Al-Mulk - 15 Page 563

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًۭا فَٱمْشُوا۟ فِى مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِهِۦ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ

EN It is He who made the earth tame for you - so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision - and to Him is the resurrection.

هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًا فَامْشُوا فِي مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا مِنْ رِزْقِهِ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ UR

Al-Mulk - 16 Page 563

ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَمُورُ

EN Do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway?

أَأَمِنْتُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ أَنْ يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ الْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَمُورُ UR

Al-Mulk - 17 Page 563

أَمْ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًۭا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِ

EN Or do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning.

أَمْ أَمِنْتُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ أَنْ يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِ UR

Al-Mulk - 18 Page 563

وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ

EN And already had those before them denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach.

وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ UR

Al-Mulk - 19 Page 563

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّيْرِ فَوْقَهُمْ صَٰٓفَّٰتٍۢ وَيَقْبِضْنَ ۚ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍۭ بَصِيرٌ

EN Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الطَّيْرِ فَوْقَهُمْ صَافَّاتٍ وَيَقْبِضْنَ ۚ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا الرَّحْمَٰنُ ۚ إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ بَصِيرٌ UR

Al-Mulk - 20 Page 563

أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى هُوَ جُندٌۭ لَّكُمْ يَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ۚ إِنِ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ إِلَّا فِى غُرُورٍ

EN Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion.

أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا الَّذِي هُوَ جُنْدٌ لَكُمْ يَنْصُرُكُمْ مِنْ دُونِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۚ إِنِ الْكَافِرُونَ إِلَّا فِي غُرُورٍ UR

Al-Mulk - 21 Page 563

أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى يَرْزُقُكُمْ إِنْ أَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّجُّوا۟ فِى عُتُوٍّۢ وَنُفُورٍ

EN Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion.

أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا الَّذِي يَرْزُقُكُمْ إِنْ أَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهُ ۚ بَلْ لَجُّوا فِي عُتُوٍّ وَنُفُورٍ UR

Al-Mulk - 22 Page 563

أَفَمَن يَمْشِى مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦٓ أَهْدَىٰٓ أَمَّن يَمْشِى سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ

EN Then is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erect on a straight path?

أَفَمَنْ يَمْشِي مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِ أَهْدَىٰ أَمَّنْ يَمْشِي سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ UR

Al-Mulk - 23 Page 563

قُلْ هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَكُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۖ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

EN Say, "It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful."

قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْشَأَكُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۖ قَلِيلًا مَا تَشْكُرُونَ UR

Al-Mulk - 24 Page 563

قُلْ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ

EN Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered."

قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ UR

Al-Mulk - 25 Page 563

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

EN And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ UR

Al-Mulk - 26 Page 563

قُلْ إِنَّمَا ٱلْعِلْمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

EN Say, "The knowledge is only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner."

قُلْ إِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ UR

Al-Mulk - 27 Page 564

فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ زُلْفَةًۭ سِيٓـَٔتْ وُجُوهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقِيلَ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَدَّعُونَ

EN But when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, "This is that for which you used to call."

فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ زُلْفَةً سِيئَتْ وُجُوهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَقِيلَ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تَدَّعُونَ UR

Al-Mulk - 28 Page 564

قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَهْلَكَنِىَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِىَ أَوْ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن يُجِيرُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍۢ

EN Say, [O Muhammad], "Have you considered: whether Allah should cause my death and those with me or have mercy upon us, who can protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?"

قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَهْلَكَنِيَ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ مَعِيَ أَوْ رَحِمَنَا فَمَنْ يُجِيرُ الْكَافِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ UR

Al-Mulk - 29 Page 564

قُلْ هُوَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ

EN Say, "He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. And you will [come to] know who it is that is in clear error."

قُلْ هُوَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ آمَنَّا بِهِ وَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ UR

Al-Mulk - 30 Page 564

قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَصْبَحَ مَآؤُكُمْ غَوْرًۭا فَمَن يَأْتِيكُم بِمَآءٍۢ مَّعِينٍۭ

EN Say, "Have you considered: if your water was to become sunken [into the earth], then who could bring you flowing water?"

قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَصْبَحَ مَاؤُكُمْ غَوْرًا فَمَنْ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِمَاءٍ مَعِينٍ UR

Al-Qalam - 1 Page 564

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ نٓ ۚ وَٱلْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ

EN Nun. By the pen and what they inscribe,

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ن ۚ وَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 2 Page 564

مَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍۢ

EN You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman.

مَا أَنْتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ UR

Al-Qalam - 3 Page 564

وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍۢ

EN And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted.

وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ UR

Al-Qalam - 4 Page 564

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍۢ

EN And indeed, you are of a great moral character.

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ UR

Al-Qalam - 5 Page 564

فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ

EN So you will see and they will see

فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 6 Page 564

بِأَييِّكُمُ ٱلْمَفْتُونُ

EN Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil].

بِأَيْيِكُمُ الْمَفْتُونُ UR

Al-Qalam - 7 Page 564

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ

EN Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ ضَلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 8 Page 564

فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

EN Then do not obey the deniers.

فَلَا تُطِعِ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 9 Page 564

وَدُّوا۟ لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَ

EN They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you].

وَدُّوا لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 10 Page 564

وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍۢ مَّهِينٍ

EN And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer

وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَهِينٍ UR

Al-Qalam - 11 Page 564

هَمَّازٍۢ مَّشَّآءٍۭ بِنَمِيمٍۢ

EN [And] scorner, going about with malicious gossip -

هَمَّازٍ مَشَّاءٍ بِنَمِيمٍ UR

Al-Qalam - 12 Page 564

مَّنَّاعٍۢ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ

EN A preventer of good, transgressing and sinful,

مَنَّاعٍ لِلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ UR

Al-Qalam - 13 Page 564

عُتُلٍّۭ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ زَنِيمٍ

EN Cruel, moreover, and an illegitimate pretender.

عُتُلٍّ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ زَنِيمٍ UR

Al-Qalam - 14 Page 564

أَن كَانَ ذَا مَالٍۢ وَبَنِينَ

EN Because he is a possessor of wealth and children,

أَنْ كَانَ ذَا مَالٍ وَبَنِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 15 Page 564

إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

EN When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."

إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 16 Page 565

سَنَسِمُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلْخُرْطُومِ

EN We will brand him upon the snout.

سَنَسِمُهُ عَلَى الْخُرْطُومِ UR

Al-Qalam - 17 Page 565

إِنَّا بَلَوْنَٰهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَآ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا۟ لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ

EN Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning

إِنَّا بَلَوْنَاهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَا أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 18 Page 565

وَلَا يَسْتَثْنُونَ

EN Without making exception.

وَلَا يَسْتَثْنُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 19 Page 565

فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَآئِفٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ

EN So there came upon the garden an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep.

فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَائِفٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَائِمُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 20 Page 565

فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَٱلصَّرِيمِ

EN And it became as though reaped.

فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَالصَّرِيمِ UR

Al-Qalam - 21 Page 565

فَتَنَادَوْا۟ مُصْبِحِينَ

EN And they called one another at morning,

فَتَنَادَوْا مُصْبِحِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 22 Page 565

أَنِ ٱغْدُوا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْثِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰرِمِينَ

EN [Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit."

أَنِ اغْدُوا عَلَىٰ حَرْثِكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَارِمِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 23 Page 565

فَٱنطَلَقُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَتَخَٰفَتُونَ

EN So they set out, while lowering their voices,

فَانْطَلَقُوا وَهُمْ يَتَخَافَتُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 24 Page 565

أَن لَّا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُم مِّسْكِينٌۭ

EN [Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person."

أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِسْكِينٌ UR

Al-Qalam - 25 Page 565

وَغَدَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْدٍۢ قَٰدِرِينَ

EN And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able.

وَغَدَوْا عَلَىٰ حَرْدٍ قَادِرِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 26 Page 565

فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهَا قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا لَضَآلُّونَ

EN But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost;

فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهَا قَالُوا إِنَّا لَضَالُّونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 27 Page 565

بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ

EN Rather, we have been deprived."

بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 28 Page 565

قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ

EN The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allah]?' "

قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُلْ لَكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 29 Page 565

قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

EN They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers."

قَالُوا سُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 30 Page 565

فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ يَتَلَٰوَمُونَ

EN Then they approached one another, blaming each other.

فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَلَاوَمُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 31 Page 565

قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَٰغِينَ

EN They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.

قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا طَاغِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 32 Page 565

عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَٰغِبُونَ

EN Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."

عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَا أَنْ يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا إِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَاغِبُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 33 Page 565

كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ

EN Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.

كَذَٰلِكَ الْعَذَابُ ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 34 Page 565

إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

EN Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure.

إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ UR

Al-Qalam - 35 Page 565

أَفَنَجْعَلُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ كَٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

EN Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals?

أَفَنَجْعَلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ كَالْمُجْرِمِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 36 Page 565

مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ

EN What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?

مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 37 Page 565

أَمْ لَكُمْ كِتَٰبٌۭ فِيهِ تَدْرُسُونَ

EN Or do you have a scripture in which you learn

أَمْ لَكُمْ كِتَابٌ فِيهِ تَدْرُسُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 38 Page 565

إِنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهِ لَمَا تَخَيَّرُونَ

EN That indeed for you is whatever you choose?

إِنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهِ لَمَا تَخَيَّرُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 39 Page 565

أَمْ لَكُمْ أَيْمَٰنٌ عَلَيْنَا بَٰلِغَةٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۙ إِنَّ لَكُمْ لَمَا تَحْكُمُونَ

EN Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge?

أَمْ لَكُمْ أَيْمَانٌ عَلَيْنَا بَالِغَةٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ۙ إِنَّ لَكُمْ لَمَا تَحْكُمُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 40 Page 565

سَلْهُمْ أَيُّهُم بِذَٰلِكَ زَعِيمٌ

EN Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible.

سَلْهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ بِذَٰلِكَ زَعِيمٌ UR

Al-Qalam - 41 Page 565

أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَآءُ فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَٰدِقِينَ

EN Or do they have partners? Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful.

أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاءُ فَلْيَأْتُوا بِشُرَكَائِهِمْ إِنْ كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 42 Page 565

يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَن سَاقٍۢ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ

EN The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but the disbelievers will not be able,

يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَنْ سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى السُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 43 Page 566

خَٰشِعَةً أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌۭ ۖ وَقَدْ كَانُوا۟ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ وَهُمْ سَٰلِمُونَ

EN Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound.

خَاشِعَةً أَبْصَارُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ۖ وَقَدْ كَانُوا يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى السُّجُودِ وَهُمْ سَالِمُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 44 Page 566

فَذَرْنِى وَمَن يُكَذِّبُ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ ۖ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

EN So leave Me, [O Muhammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies the Qur'an. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know.

فَذَرْنِي وَمَنْ يُكَذِّبُ بِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ ۖ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُمْ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 45 Page 566

وَأُمْلِى لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ كَيْدِى مَتِينٌ

EN And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm.

وَأُمْلِي لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ كَيْدِي مَتِينٌ UR

Al-Qalam - 46 Page 566

أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًۭا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍۢ مُّثْقَلُونَ

EN Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?

أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُمْ مِنْ مَغْرَمٍ مُثْقَلُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 47 Page 566

أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ

EN Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?

أَمْ عِنْدَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ UR

Al-Qalam - 48 Page 566

فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُن كَصَاحِبِ ٱلْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌۭ

EN Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed.

فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُنْ كَصَاحِبِ الْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌ UR

Al-Qalam - 49 Page 566

لَّوْلَآ أَن تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ نِعْمَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ لَنُبِذَ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ مَذْمُومٌۭ

EN If not that a favor from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured.

لَوْلَا أَنْ تَدَارَكَهُ نِعْمَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ لَنُبِذَ بِالْعَرَاءِ وَهُوَ مَذْمُومٌ UR

Al-Qalam - 50 Page 566

فَٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَجَعَلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

EN And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous.

فَاجْتَبَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَجَعَلَهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ UR

Al-Qalam - 51 Page 566

وَإِن يَكَادُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَمَجْنُونٌۭ

EN And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad."

وَإِنْ يَكَادُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَارِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا الذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُ لَمَجْنُونٌ UR

Al-Qalam - 52 Page 566

وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌۭ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ

EN But it is not except a reminder to the worlds.

وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 1 Page 566

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱلْحَآقَّةُ

EN The Inevitable Reality -

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَاقَّةُ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 2 Page 566

مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ

EN What is the Inevitable Reality?

مَا الْحَاقَّةُ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 3 Page 566

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ

EN And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality?

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحَاقَّةُ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 4 Page 566

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌۢ بِٱلْقَارِعَةِ

EN Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity.

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌ بِالْقَارِعَةِ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 5 Page 566

فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ

EN So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast].

فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِالطَّاغِيَةِ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 6 Page 566

وَأَمَّا عَادٌۭ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِرِيحٍۢ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍۢ

EN And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind

وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 7 Page 566

سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍۢ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًۭا فَتَرَى ٱلْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍۢ

EN Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.

سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 8 Page 566

فَهَلْ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةٍۢ

EN Then do you see of them any remains?

فَهَلْ تَرَىٰ لَهُمْ مِنْ بَاقِيَةٍ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 9 Page 567

وَجَآءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُۥ وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَٰتُ بِٱلْخَاطِئَةِ

EN And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin.

وَجَاءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَنْ قَبْلَهُ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 10 Page 567

فَعَصَوْا۟ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةًۭ رَّابِيَةً

EN And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity].

فَعَصَوْا رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَابِيَةً UR

Al-Haaqqa - 11 Page 567

إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلْمَآءُ حَمَلْنَٰكُمْ فِى ٱلْجَارِيَةِ

EN Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship

إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَى الْمَاءُ حَمَلْنَاكُمْ فِي الْجَارِيَةِ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 12 Page 567

لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةًۭ وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٌۭ وَٰعِيَةٌۭ

EN That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it.

لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَا أُذُنٌ وَاعِيَةٌ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 13 Page 567

فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ

EN Then when the Horn is blown with one blast

فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 14 Page 567

وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ

EN And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow -

وَحُمِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَاحِدَةً UR

Al-Haaqqa - 15 Page 567

فَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ

EN Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur,

فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 16 Page 567

وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِىَ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ وَاهِيَةٌۭ

EN And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm.

وَانْشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 17 Page 567

وَٱلْمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرْجَآئِهَا ۚ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ ثَمَٰنِيَةٌۭ

EN And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].

وَالْمَلَكُ عَلَىٰ أَرْجَائِهَا ۚ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانِيَةٌ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 18 Page 567

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَىٰ مِنكُمْ خَافِيَةٌۭ

EN That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed.

يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَىٰ مِنْكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 19 Page 567

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقْرَءُوا۟ كِتَٰبِيَهْ

EN So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record!

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَيَقُولُ هَاؤُمُ اقْرَءُوا كِتَابِيَهْ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 20 Page 567

إِنِّى ظَنَنتُ أَنِّى مُلَٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهْ

EN Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account."

إِنِّي ظَنَنْتُ أَنِّي مُلَاقٍ حِسَابِيَهْ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 21 Page 567

فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍۢ رَّاضِيَةٍۢ

EN So he will be in a pleasant life -

فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَاضِيَةٍ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 22 Page 567

فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۢ

EN In an elevated garden,

فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 23 Page 567

قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌۭ

EN Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near.

قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 24 Page 567

كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَآ أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَيَّامِ ٱلْخَالِيَةِ

EN [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past."

كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِي الْأَيَّامِ الْخَالِيَةِ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 25 Page 567

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهْ

EN But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ فَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَابِيَهْ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 26 Page 567

وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ

EN And had not known what is my account.

وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 27 Page 567

يَٰلَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلْقَاضِيَةَ

EN I wish my death had been the decisive one.

يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ الْقَاضِيَةَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 28 Page 567

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّى مَالِيَهْ ۜ

EN My wealth has not availed me.

مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهْ ۜ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 29 Page 567

هَلَكَ عَنِّى سُلْطَٰنِيَهْ

EN Gone from me is my authority."

هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلْطَانِيَهْ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 30 Page 567

خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ

EN [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him.

خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 31 Page 567

ثُمَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ

EN Then into Hellfire drive him.

ثُمَّ الْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 32 Page 567

ثُمَّ فِى سِلْسِلَةٍۢ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًۭا فَٱسْلُكُوهُ

EN Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him."

ثُمَّ فِي سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَاسْلُكُوهُ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 33 Page 567

إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

EN Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah, the Most Great,

إِنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 34 Page 567

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ

EN Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor.

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 35 Page 568

فَلَيْسَ لَهُ ٱلْيَوْمَ هَٰهُنَا حَمِيمٌۭ

EN So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend

فَلَيْسَ لَهُ الْيَوْمَ هَاهُنَا حَمِيمٌ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 36 Page 568

وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍۢ

EN Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds;

وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 37 Page 568

لَّا يَأْكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْخَٰطِـُٔونَ

EN None will eat it except the sinners.

لَا يَأْكُلُهُ إِلَّا الْخَاطِئُونَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 38 Page 568

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ

EN So I swear by what you see

فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 39 Page 568

وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ

EN And what you do not see

وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 40 Page 568

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ

EN [That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger.

إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 41 Page 568

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍۢ ۚ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ

EN And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe.

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَا تُؤْمِنُونَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 42 Page 568

وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍۢ ۚ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

EN Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember.

وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 43 Page 568

تَنزِيلٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

EN [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

تَنْزِيلٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 44 Page 568

وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ ٱلْأَقَاوِيلِ

EN And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] sayings,

وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِيلِ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 45 Page 568

لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِٱلْيَمِينِ

EN We would have seized him by the right hand;

لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِينِ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 46 Page 568

ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ ٱلْوَتِينَ

EN Then We would have cut from him the aorta.

ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِينَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 47 Page 568

فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَٰجِزِينَ

EN And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him.

فَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 48 Page 568

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذْكِرَةٌۭ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ

EN And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteous.

وَإِنَّهُ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 49 Page 568

وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ

EN And indeed, We know that among you are deniers.

وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنْكُمْ مُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 50 Page 568

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

EN And indeed, it will be [a cause of] regret upon the disbelievers.

وَإِنَّهُ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 51 Page 568

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ

EN And indeed, it is the truth of certainty.

وَإِنَّهُ لَحَقُّ الْيَقِينِ UR

Al-Haaqqa - 52 Page 568

فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

EN So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.

فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 1 Page 568

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ سَأَلَ سَآئِلٌۢ بِعَذَابٍۢ وَاقِعٍۢ

EN A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ سَأَلَ سَائِلٌ بِعَذَابٍ وَاقِعٍ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 2 Page 568

لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ دَافِعٌۭ

EN To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer.

لِلْكَافِرِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَافِعٌ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 3 Page 568

مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ذِى ٱلْمَعَارِجِ

EN [It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent.

مِنَ اللَّهِ ذِي الْمَعَارِجِ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 4 Page 568

تَعْرُجُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِى يَوْمٍۢ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍۢ

EN The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.

تَعْرُجُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 5 Page 568

فَٱصْبِرْ صَبْرًۭا جَمِيلًا

EN So be patient with gracious patience.

فَاصْبِرْ صَبْرًا جَمِيلًا UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 6 Page 568

إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُۥ بَعِيدًۭا

EN Indeed, they see it [as] distant,

إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُ بَعِيدًا UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 7 Page 568

وَنَرَىٰهُ قَرِيبًۭا

EN But We see it [as] near.

وَنَرَاهُ قَرِيبًا UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 8 Page 568

يَوْمَ تَكُونُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ كَٱلْمُهْلِ

EN On the Day the sky will be like murky oil,

يَوْمَ تَكُونُ السَّمَاءُ كَالْمُهْلِ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 9 Page 568

وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ

EN And the mountains will be like wool,

وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 10 Page 568

وَلَا يَسْـَٔلُ حَمِيمٌ حَمِيمًۭا

EN And no friend will ask [anything of] a friend,

وَلَا يَسْأَلُ حَمِيمٌ حَمِيمًا UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 11 Page 569

يُبَصَّرُونَهُمْ ۚ يَوَدُّ ٱلْمُجْرِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَدِى مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِئِذٍۭ بِبَنِيهِ

EN They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children

يُبَصَّرُونَهُمْ ۚ يَوَدُّ الْمُجْرِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَدِي مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِئِذٍ بِبَنِيهِ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 12 Page 569

وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَأَخِيهِ

EN And his wife and his brother

وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَأَخِيهِ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 13 Page 569

وَفَصِيلَتِهِ ٱلَّتِى تُـْٔوِيهِ

EN And his nearest kindred who shelter him

وَفَصِيلَتِهِ الَّتِي تُؤْوِيهِ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 14 Page 569

وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًۭا ثُمَّ يُنجِيهِ

EN And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him.

وَمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ يُنْجِيهِ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 15 Page 569

كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّهَا لَظَىٰ

EN No! Indeed, it is the Flame [of Hell],

كَلَّا ۖ إِنَّهَا لَظَىٰ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 16 Page 569

نَزَّاعَةًۭ لِّلشَّوَىٰ

EN A remover of exteriors.

نَزَّاعَةً لِلشَّوَىٰ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 17 Page 569

تَدْعُوا۟ مَنْ أَدْبَرَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

EN It invites he who turned his back [on truth] and went away [from obedience]

تَدْعُو مَنْ أَدْبَرَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 18 Page 569

وَجَمَعَ فَأَوْعَىٰٓ

EN And collected [wealth] and hoarded.

وَجَمَعَ فَأَوْعَىٰ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 19 Page 569

۞ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا

EN Indeed, mankind was created anxious:

۞ إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 20 Page 569

إِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ جَزُوعًۭا

EN When evil touches him, impatient,

إِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوعًا UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 21 Page 569

وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلْخَيْرُ مَنُوعًا

EN And when good touches him, withholding [of it],

وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الْخَيْرُ مَنُوعًا UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 22 Page 569

إِلَّا ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ

EN Except the observers of prayer -

إِلَّا الْمُصَلِّينَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 23 Page 569

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ دَآئِمُونَ

EN Those who are constant in their prayer

الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ دَائِمُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 24 Page 569

وَٱلَّذِينَ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ

EN And those within whose wealth is a known right

وَالَّذِينَ فِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ مَعْلُومٌ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 25 Page 569

لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ

EN For the petitioner and the deprived -

لِلسَّائِلِ وَالْمَحْرُومِ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 26 Page 569

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُصَدِّقُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ

EN And those who believe in the Day of Recompense

وَالَّذِينَ يُصَدِّقُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 27 Page 569

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ

EN And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord -

وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ مِنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّهِمْ مُشْفِقُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 28 Page 569

إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّهِمْ غَيْرُ مَأْمُونٍۢ

EN Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe -

إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّهِمْ غَيْرُ مَأْمُونٍ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 29 Page 569

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰفِظُونَ

EN And those who guard their private parts

وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 30 Page 569

إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ

EN Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed -

إِلَّا عَلَىٰ أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 31 Page 569

فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ

EN But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors -

فَمَنِ ابْتَغَىٰ وَرَاءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْعَادُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 32 Page 569

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ

EN And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive

وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَانَاتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 33 Page 569

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِشَهَٰدَٰتِهِمْ قَآئِمُونَ

EN And those who are in their testimonies upright

وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِشَهَادَاتِهِمْ قَائِمُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 34 Page 569

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ

EN And those who [carefully] maintain their prayer:

وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 35 Page 569

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ مُّكْرَمُونَ

EN They will be in gardens, honored.

أُولَٰئِكَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ مُكْرَمُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 36 Page 569

فَمَالِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِينَ

EN So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muhammad],

فَمَالِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِينَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 37 Page 569

عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ عِزِينَ

EN [To sit] on [your] right and [your] left in separate groups?

عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ عِزِينَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 38 Page 569

أَيَطْمَعُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُدْخَلَ جَنَّةَ نَعِيمٍۢ

EN Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure?

أَيَطْمَعُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ أَنْ يُدْخَلَ جَنَّةَ نَعِيمٍ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 39 Page 569

كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّمَّا يَعْلَمُونَ

EN No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know.

كَلَّا ۖ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُمْ مِمَّا يَعْلَمُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 40 Page 570

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلْمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَ

EN So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able

فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِرَبِّ الْمَشَارِقِ وَالْمَغَارِبِ إِنَّا لَقَادِرُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 41 Page 570

عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ

EN To replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone.

عَلَىٰ أَنْ نُبَدِّلَ خَيْرًا مِنْهُمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 42 Page 570

فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا۟ وَيَلْعَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ

EN So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised -

فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا وَيَلْعَبُوا حَتَّىٰ يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 43 Page 570

يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ سِرَاعًۭا كَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ نُصُبٍۢ يُوفِضُونَ

EN The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening.

يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ سِرَاعًا كَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ نُصُبٍ يُوفِضُونَ UR

Al-Ma'aarij - 44 Page 570

خَٰشِعَةً أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌۭ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ

EN Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised.

خَاشِعَةً أَبْصَارُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ UR

Nooh - 1 Page 570

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ

EN Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment."

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ أَنْ أَنْذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ UR

Nooh - 2 Page 570

قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ

EN He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner,

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ UR

Nooh - 3 Page 570

أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ

EN [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me.

أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ UR

Nooh - 4 Page 570

يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍۢ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

EN Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' "

يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ مِنْ ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ إِذَا جَاءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ UR

Nooh - 5 Page 570

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًۭا وَنَهَارًۭا

EN He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day.

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِي لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا UR

Nooh - 6 Page 570

فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًۭا

EN But my invitation increased them not except in flight.

فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَائِي إِلَّا فِرَارًا UR

Nooh - 7 Page 570

وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓا۟ أَصَٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ ٱسْتِكْبَارًۭا

EN And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance.

وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوا أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًا UR

Nooh - 8 Page 570

ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًۭا

EN Then I invited them publicly.

ثُمَّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا UR

Nooh - 9 Page 570

ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًۭا

EN Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly

ثُمَّ إِنِّي أَعْلَنْتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا UR

Nooh - 10 Page 570

فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًۭا

EN And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.

فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا UR

Nooh - 11 Page 571

يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًۭا

EN He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers

يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِدْرَارًا UR

Nooh - 12 Page 571

وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍۢ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَٰرًۭا

EN And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.

وَيُمْدِدْكُمْ بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ وَيَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ أَنْهَارًا UR

Nooh - 13 Page 571

مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًۭا

EN What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur

مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا UR

Nooh - 14 Page 571

وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا

EN While He has created you in stages?

وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا UR

Nooh - 15 Page 571

أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٍۢ طِبَاقًۭا

EN Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers

أَلَمْ تَرَوْا كَيْفَ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا UR

Nooh - 16 Page 571

وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًۭا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًۭا

EN And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp?

وَجَعَلَ الْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا UR

Nooh - 17 Page 571

وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًۭا

EN And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth.

وَاللَّهُ أَنْبَتَكُمْ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا UR

Nooh - 18 Page 571

ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًۭا

EN Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction.

ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا UR

Nooh - 19 Page 571

وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًۭا

EN And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا UR

Nooh - 20 Page 571

لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًۭا فِجَاجًۭا

EN That you may follow therein roads of passage.' "

لِتَسْلُكُوا مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا UR

Nooh - 21 Page 571

قَالَ نُوحٌۭ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًۭا

EN Noah said, "My Lord, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children will not increase him except in loss.

قَالَ نُوحٌ رَبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِي وَاتَّبَعُوا مَنْ لَمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُ وَوَلَدُهُ إِلَّا خَسَارًا UR

Nooh - 22 Page 571

وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًۭا كُبَّارًۭا

EN And they conspired an immense conspiracy.

وَمَكَرُوا مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا UR

Nooh - 23 Page 571

وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّۭا وَلَا سُوَاعًۭا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًۭا

EN And said, 'Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwa' or Yaghuth and Ya'uq and Nasr.

وَقَالُوا لَا تَذَرُنَّ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا UR

Nooh - 24 Page 571

وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا۟ كَثِيرًۭا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَٰلًۭا

EN And already they have misled many. And, [my Lord], do not increase the wrongdoers except in error."

وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَالًا UR

Nooh - 25 Page 571

مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٰٔتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًۭا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًۭا

EN Because of their sins they were drowned and put into the Fire, and they found not for themselves besides Allah [any] helpers.

مِمَّا خَطِيئَاتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا فَأُدْخِلُوا نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَنْصَارًا UR

Nooh - 26 Page 571

وَقَالَ نُوحٌۭ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا

EN And Noah said, "My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant.

وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ دَيَّارًا UR

Nooh - 27 Page 571

إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًۭا كَفَّارًۭا

EN Indeed, if You leave them, they will mislead Your servants and not beget except [every] wicked one and [confirmed] disbeliever.

إِنَّكَ إِنْ تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوا إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا UR

Nooh - 28 Page 571

رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًۭا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا

EN My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction."

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَنْ دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًا UR

Al-Jinn - 1 Page 572

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ أَنَّهُ ٱسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْءَانًا عَجَبًۭا

EN Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْآنًا عَجَبًا UR

Al-Jinn - 2 Page 572

يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلرُّشْدِ فَـَٔامَنَّا بِهِۦ ۖ وَلَن نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَآ أَحَدًۭا

EN It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone.

يَهْدِي إِلَى الرُّشْدِ فَآمَنَّا بِهِ ۖ وَلَنْ نُشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَا أَحَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 3 Page 572

وَأَنَّهُۥ تَعَٰلَىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا ٱتَّخَذَ صَٰحِبَةًۭ وَلَا وَلَدًۭا

EN And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son

وَأَنَّهُ تَعَالَىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا اتَّخَذَ صَاحِبَةً وَلَا وَلَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 4 Page 572

وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ شَطَطًۭا

EN And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression.

وَأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ شَطَطًا UR

Al-Jinn - 5 Page 572

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن تَقُولَ ٱلْإِنسُ وَٱلْجِنُّ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا

EN And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie.

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّا أَنْ لَنْ تَقُولَ الْإِنْسُ وَالْجِنُّ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا UR

Al-Jinn - 6 Page 572

وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ رِجَالٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقًۭا

EN And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden.

وَأَنَّهُ كَانَ رِجَالٌ مِنَ الْإِنْسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٍ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقًا UR

Al-Jinn - 7 Page 572

وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا۟ كَمَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَن لَّن يَبْعَثَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدًۭا

EN And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger].

وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا كَمَا ظَنَنْتُمْ أَنْ لَنْ يَبْعَثَ اللَّهُ أَحَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 8 Page 572

وَأَنَّا لَمَسْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدْنَٰهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًۭا شَدِيدًۭا وَشُهُبًۭا

EN And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames.

وَأَنَّا لَمَسْنَا السَّمَاءَ فَوَجَدْنَاهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًا شَدِيدًا وَشُهُبًا UR

Al-Jinn - 9 Page 572

وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَٰعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ ۖ فَمَن يَسْتَمِعِ ٱلْءَانَ يَجِدْ لَهُۥ شِهَابًۭا رَّصَدًۭا

EN And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him.

وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَاعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ ۖ فَمَنْ يَسْتَمِعِ الْآنَ يَجِدْ لَهُ شِهَابًا رَصَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 10 Page 572

وَأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِىٓ أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًۭا

EN And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course.

وَأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِي أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 11 Page 572

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ كُنَّا طَرَآئِقَ قِدَدًۭا

EN And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways.

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الصَّالِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ كُنَّا طَرَائِقَ قِدَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 12 Page 572

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن نُّعْجِزَ ٱللَّهَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَن نُّعْجِزَهُۥ هَرَبًۭا

EN And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight.

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّا أَنْ لَنْ نُعْجِزَ اللَّهَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَنْ نُعْجِزَهُ هَرَبًا UR

Al-Jinn - 13 Page 572

وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ ۖ فَمَن يُؤْمِنۢ بِرَبِّهِۦ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخْسًۭا وَلَا رَهَقًۭا

EN And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden.

وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا الْهُدَىٰ آمَنَّا بِهِ ۖ فَمَنْ يُؤْمِنْ بِرَبِّهِ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخْسًا وَلَا رَهَقًا UR

Al-Jinn - 14 Page 573

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا ٱلْقَٰسِطُونَ ۖ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا۟ رَشَدًۭا

EN And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course.

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ ۖ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا رَشَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 15 Page 573

وَأَمَّا ٱلْقَٰسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا۟ لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًۭا

EN But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.'

وَأَمَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًا UR

Al-Jinn - 16 Page 573

وَأَلَّوِ ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَٰهُم مَّآءً غَدَقًۭا

EN And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision

وَأَنْ لَوِ اسْتَقَامُوا عَلَى الطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَاهُمْ مَاءً غَدَقًا UR

Al-Jinn - 17 Page 573

لِّنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ ۚ وَمَن يُعْرِضْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِۦ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًۭا صَعَدًۭا

EN So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment.

لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ ۚ وَمَنْ يُعْرِضْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًا صَعَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 18 Page 573

وَأَنَّ ٱلْمَسَٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدًۭا

EN And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone.

وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 19 Page 573

وَأَنَّهُۥ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا۟ يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًۭا

EN And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass."

وَأَنَّهُ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 20 Page 573

قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى وَلَآ أُشْرِكُ بِهِۦٓ أَحَدًۭا

EN Say, [O Muhammad], "I only invoke my Lord and do not associate with Him anyone."

قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَدْعُو رَبِّي وَلَا أُشْرِكُ بِهِ أَحَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 21 Page 573

قُلْ إِنِّى لَآ أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّۭا وَلَا رَشَدًۭا

EN Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction."

قُلْ إِنِّي لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا رَشَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 22 Page 573

قُلْ إِنِّى لَن يُجِيرَنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدٌۭ وَلَنْ أَجِدَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مُلْتَحَدًا

EN Say, "Indeed, there will never protect me from Allah anyone [if I should disobey], nor will I find in other than Him a refuge.

قُلْ إِنِّي لَنْ يُجِيرَنِي مِنَ اللَّهِ أَحَدٌ وَلَنْ أَجِدَ مِنْ دُونِهِ مُلْتَحَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 23 Page 573

إِلَّا بَلَٰغًۭا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِسَٰلَٰتِهِۦ ۚ وَمَن يَعْصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا

EN But [I have for you] only notification from Allah, and His messages." And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger - then indeed, for him is the fire of Hell; they will abide therein forever.

إِلَّا بَلَاغًا مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرِسَالَاتِهِ ۚ وَمَنْ يَعْصِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَإِنَّ لَهُ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 24 Page 573

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَضْعَفُ نَاصِرًۭا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدًۭا

EN [The disbelievers continue] until, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know who is weaker in helpers and less in number.

حَتَّىٰ إِذَا رَأَوْا مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَضْعَفُ نَاصِرًا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 25 Page 573

قُلْ إِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌۭ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ أَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَهُۥ رَبِّىٓ أَمَدًا

EN Say, "I do not know if what you are promised is near or if my Lord will grant for it a [long] period."

قُلْ إِنْ أَدْرِي أَقَرِيبٌ مَا تُوعَدُونَ أَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَهُ رَبِّي أَمَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 26 Page 573

عَٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا

EN [He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone

عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِهِ أَحَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 27 Page 573

إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرْتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٍۢ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَسْلُكُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦ رَصَدًۭا

EN Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before each messenger and behind him observers

إِلَّا مَنِ ارْتَضَىٰ مِنْ رَسُولٍ فَإِنَّهُ يَسْلُكُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ رَصَدًا UR

Al-Jinn - 28 Page 573

لِّيَعْلَمَ أَن قَدْ أَبْلَغُوا۟ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَأَحْصَىٰ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عَدَدًۢا

EN That he may know that they have conveyed the messages of their Lord; and He has encompassed whatever is with them and has enumerated all things in number.

لِيَعْلَمَ أَنْ قَدْ أَبْلَغُوا رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَأَحْصَىٰ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عَدَدًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 1 Page 574

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمُزَّمِّلُ

EN O you who wraps himself [in clothing],

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ UR

Al-Muzzammil - 2 Page 574

قُمِ ٱلَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

EN Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little -

قُمِ اللَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 3 Page 574

نِّصْفَهُۥٓ أَوِ ٱنقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا

EN Half of it - or subtract from it a little

نِصْفَهُ أَوِ انْقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 4 Page 574

أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَرْتِيلًا

EN Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation.

أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 5 Page 574

إِنَّا سَنُلْقِى عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًۭا ثَقِيلًا

EN Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.

إِنَّا سَنُلْقِي عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 6 Page 574

إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ ٱلَّيْلِ هِىَ أَشَدُّ وَطْـًۭٔا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا

EN Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words.

إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطْئًا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 7 Page 574

إِنَّ لَكَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ سَبْحًۭا طَوِيلًۭا

EN Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation.

إِنَّ لَكَ فِي النَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 8 Page 574

وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًۭا

EN And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.

وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 9 Page 574

رَّبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَٱتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًۭا

EN [He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.

رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 10 Page 574

وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًۭا جَمِيلًۭا

EN And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance.

وَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 11 Page 574

وَذَرْنِى وَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُو۟لِى ٱلنَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا

EN And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little.

وَذَرْنِي وَالْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُولِي النَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 12 Page 574

إِنَّ لَدَيْنَآ أَنكَالًۭا وَجَحِيمًۭا

EN Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire

إِنَّ لَدَيْنَا أَنْكَالًا وَجَحِيمًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 13 Page 574

وَطَعَامًۭا ذَا غُصَّةٍۢ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا

EN And food that chokes and a painful punishment -

وَطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 14 Page 574

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًۭا مَّهِيلًا

EN On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down.

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ الْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًا مَهِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 15 Page 574

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًۭا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًۭا

EN Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 16 Page 574

فَعَصَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ أَخْذًۭا وَبِيلًۭا

EN But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.

فَعَصَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ الرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُ أَخْذًا وَبِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 17 Page 574

فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًۭا يَجْعَلُ ٱلْوِلْدَٰنَ شِيبًا

EN Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white- haired?

فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِنْ كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًا يَجْعَلُ الْوِلْدَانَ شِيبًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 18 Page 574

ٱلسَّمَآءُ مُنفَطِرٌۢ بِهِۦ ۚ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَفْعُولًا

EN The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled.

السَّمَاءُ مُنْفَطِرٌ بِهِ ۚ كَانَ وَعْدُهُ مَفْعُولًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 19 Page 574

إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا

EN Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way.

إِنَّ هَٰذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ ۖ فَمَنْ شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا UR

Al-Muzzammil - 20 Page 575

۞ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَىٰ مِن ثُلُثَىِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُۥ وَثُلُثَهُۥ وَطَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَعَكَ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ ۚ عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَىٰ ۙ وَءَاخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ ۙ وَءَاخَرُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ ۚ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَقْرِضُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًۭا ۚ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا۟ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍۢ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرًۭا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًۭا ۚ وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۢ

EN Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur'an. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah. So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and loan Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

۞ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَىٰ مِنْ ثُلُثَيِ اللَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُ وَثُلُثَهُ وَطَائِفَةٌ مِنَ الَّذِينَ مَعَكَ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ ۚ عَلِمَ أَنْ لَنْ تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ ۚ عَلِمَ أَنْ سَيَكُونُ مِنْكُمْ مَرْضَىٰ ۙ وَآخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللَّهِ ۙ وَآخَرُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۖ فَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ ۚ وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَقْرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا ۚ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا لِأَنْفُسِكُمْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوهُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًا ۚ وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا اللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 1 Page 575

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمُدَّثِّرُ

EN O you who covers himself [with a garment],

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 2 Page 575

قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ

EN Arise and warn

قُمْ فَأَنْذِرْ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 3 Page 575

وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ

EN And your Lord glorify

وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 4 Page 575

وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ

EN And your clothing purify

وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 5 Page 575

وَٱلرُّجْزَ فَٱهْجُرْ

EN And uncleanliness avoid

وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 6 Page 575

وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ

EN And do not confer favor to acquire more

وَلَا تَمْنُنْ تَسْتَكْثِرُ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 7 Page 575

وَلِرَبِّكَ فَٱصْبِرْ

EN But for your Lord be patient.

وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصْبِرْ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 8 Page 575

فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِى ٱلنَّاقُورِ

EN And when the trumpet is blown,

فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 9 Page 575

فَذَٰلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ

EN That Day will be a difficult day

فَذَٰلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 10 Page 575

عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍۢ

EN For the disbelievers - not easy.

عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 11 Page 575

ذَرْنِى وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًۭا

EN Leave Me with the one I created alone

ذَرْنِي وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًا UR

Al-Muddaththir - 12 Page 575

وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُۥ مَالًۭا مَّمْدُودًۭا

EN And to whom I granted extensive wealth

وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ مَالًا مَمْدُودًا UR

Al-Muddaththir - 13 Page 575

وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًۭا

EN And children present [with him]

وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًا UR

Al-Muddaththir - 14 Page 575

وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمْهِيدًۭا

EN And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life].

وَمَهَّدْتُ لَهُ تَمْهِيدًا UR

Al-Muddaththir - 15 Page 575

ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ

EN Then he desires that I should add more.

ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 16 Page 575

كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِءَايَٰتِنَا عَنِيدًۭا

EN No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate.

كَلَّا ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ لِآيَاتِنَا عَنِيدًا UR

Al-Muddaththir - 17 Page 575

سَأُرْهِقُهُۥ صَعُودًا

EN I will cover him with arduous torment.

سَأُرْهِقُهُ صَعُودًا UR

Al-Muddaththir - 18 Page 576

إِنَّهُۥ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ

EN Indeed, he thought and deliberated.

إِنَّهُ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 19 Page 576

فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ

EN So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.

فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 20 Page 576

ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ

EN Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.

ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 21 Page 576

ثُمَّ نَظَرَ

EN Then he considered [again];

ثُمَّ نَظَرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 22 Page 576

ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ

EN Then he frowned and scowled;

ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 23 Page 576

ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ

EN Then he turned back and was arrogant

ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 24 Page 576

فَقَالَ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ يُؤْثَرُ

EN And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others].

فَقَالَ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ يُؤْثَرُ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 25 Page 576

إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا قَوْلُ ٱلْبَشَرِ

EN This is not but the word of a human being."

إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا قَوْلُ الْبَشَرِ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 26 Page 576

سَأُصْلِيهِ سَقَرَ

EN I will drive him into Saqar.

سَأُصْلِيهِ سَقَرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 27 Page 576

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سَقَرُ

EN And what can make you know what is Saqar?

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سَقَرُ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 28 Page 576

لَا تُبْقِى وَلَا تَذَرُ

EN It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned],

لَا تُبْقِي وَلَا تَذَرُ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 29 Page 576

لَوَّاحَةٌۭ لِّلْبَشَرِ

EN Blackening the skins.

لَوَّاحَةٌ لِلْبَشَرِ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 30 Page 576

عَلَيْهَا تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ

EN Over it are nineteen [angels].

عَلَيْهَا تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 31 Page 576

وَمَا جَعَلْنَآ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَٰٓئِكَةًۭ ۙ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَيَزْدَادَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِيمَٰنًۭا ۙ وَلَا يَرْتَابَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۙ وَلِيَقُولَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌۭ وَٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلًۭا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ وَمَا هِىَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَىٰ لِلْبَشَرِ

EN And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity.

وَمَا جَعَلْنَا أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَائِكَةً ۙ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَيَزْدَادَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِيمَانًا ۙ وَلَا يَرْتَابَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۙ وَلِيَقُولَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ وَالْكَافِرُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَىٰ لِلْبَشَرِ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 32 Page 576

كَلَّا وَٱلْقَمَرِ

EN No! By the moon

كَلَّا وَالْقَمَرِ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 33 Page 576

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذْ أَدْبَرَ

EN And [by] the night when it departs

وَاللَّيْلِ إِذْ أَدْبَرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 34 Page 576

وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَآ أَسْفَرَ

EN And [by] the morning when it brightens,

وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا أَسْفَرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 35 Page 576

إِنَّهَا لَإِحْدَى ٱلْكُبَرِ

EN Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions]

إِنَّهَا لَإِحْدَى الْكُبَرِ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 36 Page 576

نَذِيرًۭا لِّلْبَشَرِ

EN As a warning to humanity -

نَذِيرًا لِلْبَشَرِ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 37 Page 576

لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوْ يَتَأَخَّرَ

EN To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind.

لِمَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوْ يَتَأَخَّرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 38 Page 576

كُلُّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ رَهِينَةٌ

EN Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ رَهِينَةٌ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 39 Page 576

إِلَّآ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْيَمِينِ

EN Except the companions of the right,

إِلَّا أَصْحَابَ الْيَمِينِ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 40 Page 576

فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

EN [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other

فِي جَنَّاتٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 41 Page 576

عَنِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

EN About the criminals,

عَنِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 42 Page 576

مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِى سَقَرَ

EN [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?"

مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِي سَقَرَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 43 Page 576

قَالُوا۟ لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ

EN They will say, "We were not of those who prayed,

قَالُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 44 Page 576

وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ ٱلْمِسْكِينَ

EN Nor did we used to feed the poor.

وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِينَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 45 Page 576

وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ ٱلْخَآئِضِينَ

EN And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it],

وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخَائِضِينَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 46 Page 576

وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ

EN And we used to deny the Day of Recompense

وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 47 Page 576

حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰنَا ٱلْيَقِينُ

EN Until there came to us the certainty."

حَتَّىٰ أَتَانَا الْيَقِينُ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 48 Page 577

فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَٰعَةُ ٱلشَّٰفِعِينَ

EN So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors.

فَمَا تَنْفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشَّافِعِينَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 49 Page 577

فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلتَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ

EN Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away

فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 50 Page 577

كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌۭ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌۭ

EN As if they were alarmed donkeys

كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُسْتَنْفِرَةٌ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 51 Page 577

فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةٍۭ

EN Fleeing from a lion?

فَرَّتْ مِنْ قَسْوَرَةٍ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 52 Page 577

بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًۭا مُّنَشَّرَةًۭ

EN Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about.

بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ أَنْ يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًا مُنَشَّرَةً UR

Al-Muddaththir - 53 Page 577

كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ

EN No! But they do not fear the Hereafter.

كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ لَا يَخَافُونَ الْآخِرَةَ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 54 Page 577

كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذْكِرَةٌۭ

EN No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder

كَلَّا إِنَّهُ تَذْكِرَةٌ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 55 Page 577

فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ

EN Then whoever wills will remember it.

فَمَنْ شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُ UR

Al-Muddaththir - 56 Page 577

وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ

EN And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness.

وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 1 Page 577

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ

EN I swear by the Day of Resurrection

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ لَا أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 2 Page 577

وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ

EN And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].

وَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 3 Page 577

أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ

EN Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?

أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَلَّنْ نَجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 4 Page 577

بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ

EN Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.

بَلَىٰ قَادِرِينَ عَلَىٰ أَنْ نُسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 5 Page 577

بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ

EN But man desires to continue in sin.

بَلْ يُرِيدُ الْإِنْسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 6 Page 577

يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ

EN He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"

يَسْأَلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 7 Page 577

فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ

EN So when vision is dazzled

فَإِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 8 Page 577

وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ

EN And the moon darkens

وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 9 Page 577

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ

EN And the sun and the moon are joined,

وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 10 Page 577

يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ

EN Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"

يَقُولُ الْإِنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 11 Page 577

كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ

EN No! There is no refuge.

كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 12 Page 577

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ

EN To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 13 Page 577

يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ

EN Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back.

يُنَبَّأُ الْإِنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 14 Page 577

بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌۭ

EN Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,

بَلِ الْإِنْسَانُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ بَصِيرَةٌ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 15 Page 577

وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ

EN Even if he presents his excuses.

وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 16 Page 577

لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ

EN Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an.

لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 17 Page 577

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ

EN Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation.

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 18 Page 577

فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ

EN So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.

فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 19 Page 577

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ

EN Then upon Us is its clarification [to you].

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 20 Page 578

كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ

EN No! But you love the immediate

كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 21 Page 578

وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ

EN And leave the Hereafter.

وَتَذَرُونَ الْآخِرَةَ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 22 Page 578

وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاضِرَةٌ

EN [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant,

وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاضِرَةٌ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 23 Page 578

إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌۭ

EN Looking at their Lord.

إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 24 Page 578

وَوُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌۭ

EN And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted,

وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَاسِرَةٌ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 25 Page 578

تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌۭ

EN Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking.

تَظُنُّ أَنْ يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 26 Page 578

كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ

EN No! When the soul has reached the collar bones

كَلَّا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ التَّرَاقِيَ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 27 Page 578

وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍۢ

EN And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?"

وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 28 Page 578

وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ

EN And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation

وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 29 Page 578

وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ

EN And the leg is wound about the leg,

وَالْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 30 Page 578

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ

EN To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession.

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمَسَاقُ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 31 Page 578

فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ

EN And the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayed.

فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 32 Page 578

وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

EN But [instead], he denied and turned away.

وَلَٰكِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 33 Page 578

ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ

EN And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride].

ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ يَتَمَطَّىٰ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 34 Page 578

أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ

EN Woe to you, and woe!

أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 35 Page 578

ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ

EN Then woe to you, and woe!

ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 36 Page 578

أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى

EN Does man think that he will be left neglected?

أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَنْ يُتْرَكَ سُدًى UR

Al-Qiyaama - 37 Page 578

أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةًۭ مِّن مَّنِىٍّۢ يُمْنَىٰ

EN Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted?

أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِنْ مَنِيٍّ يُمْنَىٰ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 38 Page 578

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةًۭ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ

EN Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allah] created [his form] and proportioned [him]

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 39 Page 578

فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ

EN And made of him two mates, the male and the female.

فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنْثَىٰ UR

Al-Qiyaama - 40 Page 578

أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْۦِىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ

EN Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead?

أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَىٰ أَنْ يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَىٰ UR

Al-Insaan - 1 Page 578

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ حِينٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًۭٔا مَّذْكُورًا

EN Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned?

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى الْإِنْسَانِ حِينٌ مِنَ الدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْئًا مَذْكُورًا UR

Al-Insaan - 2 Page 578

إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍۢ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا

EN Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing.

إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا UR

Al-Insaan - 3 Page 578

إِنَّا هَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًۭا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا

EN Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful.

إِنَّا هَدَيْنَاهُ السَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا UR

Al-Insaan - 4 Page 578

إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ سَلَٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَٰلًۭا وَسَعِيرًا

EN Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze.

إِنَّا أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ سَلَاسِلَ وَأَغْلَالًا وَسَعِيرًا UR

Al-Insaan - 5 Page 578

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍۢ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا

EN Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur,

إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِنْ كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا UR

Al-Insaan - 6 Page 579

عَيْنًۭا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًۭا

EN A spring of which the [righteous] servants of Allah will drink; they will make it gush forth in force [and abundance].

عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ اللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا UR

Al-Insaan - 7 Page 579

يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًۭا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًۭا

EN They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread.

يُوفُونَ بِالنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُ مُسْتَطِيرًا UR

Al-Insaan - 8 Page 579

وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًۭا وَيَتِيمًۭا وَأَسِيرًا

EN And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,

وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا UR

Al-Insaan - 9 Page 579

إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءًۭ وَلَا شُكُورًا

EN [Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.

إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنْكُمْ جَزَاءً وَلَا شُكُورًا UR

Al-Insaan - 10 Page 579

إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًۭا قَمْطَرِيرًۭا

EN Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful."

إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِنْ رَبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا UR

Al-Insaan - 11 Page 579

فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةًۭ وَسُرُورًۭا

EN So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness

فَوَقَاهُمُ اللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا UR

Al-Insaan - 12 Page 579

وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةًۭ وَحَرِيرًۭا

EN And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments].

وَجَزَاهُمْ بِمَا صَبَرُوا جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا UR

Al-Insaan - 13 Page 579

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۖ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًۭا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًۭا

EN [They will be] reclining therein on adorned couches. They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold.

مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ ۖ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا UR

Al-Insaan - 14 Page 579

وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًۭا

EN And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance.

وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَالُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا UR

Al-Insaan - 15 Page 579

وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍۢ مِّن فِضَّةٍۢ وَأَكْوَابٍۢ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠

EN And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass],

وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِآنِيَةٍ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا UR

Al-Insaan - 16 Page 579

قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍۢ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًۭا

EN Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure.

قَوَارِيرَ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا UR

Al-Insaan - 17 Page 579

وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًۭا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا

EN And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger

وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنْجَبِيلًا UR

Al-Insaan - 18 Page 579

عَيْنًۭا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًۭا

EN [From] a fountain within Paradise named Salsabeel.

عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًا UR

Al-Insaan - 19 Page 579

۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًۭا مَّنثُورًۭا

EN There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls.

۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَنْثُورًا UR

Al-Insaan - 20 Page 579

وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًۭا وَمُلْكًۭا كَبِيرًا

EN And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion.

وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا UR

Al-Insaan - 21 Page 579

عَٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌۭ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌۭ ۖ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍۢ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًۭا طَهُورًا

EN Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink.

عَالِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُنْدُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ ۖ وَحُلُّوا أَسَاوِرَ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا UR

Al-Insaan - 22 Page 579

إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءًۭ وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا

EN [And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated."

إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَاءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُمْ مَشْكُورًا UR

Al-Insaan - 23 Page 579

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًۭا

EN Indeed, it is We who have sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Qur'an progressively.

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ تَنْزِيلًا UR

Al-Insaan - 24 Page 579

فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًۭا

EN So be patient for the decision of your Lord and do not obey from among them a sinner or ungrateful [disbeliever].

فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ آثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا UR

Al-Insaan - 25 Page 579

وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةًۭ وَأَصِيلًۭا

EN And mention the name of your Lord [in prayer] morning and evening

وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا UR

Al-Insaan - 26 Page 580

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَٱسْجُدْ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًۭا طَوِيلًا

EN And during the night prostrate to Him and exalt Him a long [part of the] night.

وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَاسْجُدْ لَهُ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا UR

Al-Insaan - 27 Page 580

إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْمًۭا ثَقِيلًۭا

EN Indeed, these [disbelievers] love the immediate and leave behind them a grave Day.

إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ يُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَاءَهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا UR

Al-Insaan - 28 Page 580

نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا

EN We have created them and strengthened their forms, and when We will, We can change their likenesses with [complete] alteration.

نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَا أَسْرَهُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَا أَمْثَالَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا UR

Al-Insaan - 29 Page 580

إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًۭا

EN Indeed, this is a reminder, so he who wills may take to his Lord a way.

إِنَّ هَٰذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ ۖ فَمَنْ شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا UR

Al-Insaan - 30 Page 580

وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًۭا

EN And you do not will except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.

وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا UR

Al-Insaan - 31 Page 580

يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ وَٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۢا

EN He admits whom He wills into His mercy; but the wrongdoers - He has prepared for them a painful punishment.

يُدْخِلُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ ۚ وَالظَّالِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا UR

Al-Mursalaat - 1 Page 580

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلْمُرْسَلَٰتِ عُرْفًۭا

EN By those [winds] sent forth in gusts

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا UR

Al-Mursalaat - 2 Page 580

فَٱلْعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصْفًۭا

EN And the winds that blow violently

فَالْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفًا UR

Al-Mursalaat - 3 Page 580

وَٱلنَّٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًۭا

EN And [by] the winds that spread [clouds]

وَالنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْرًا UR

Al-Mursalaat - 4 Page 580

فَٱلْفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرْقًۭا

EN And those [angels] who bring criterion

فَالْفَارِقَاتِ فَرْقًا UR

Al-Mursalaat - 5 Page 580

فَٱلْمُلْقِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا

EN And those [angels] who deliver a message

فَالْمُلْقِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا UR

Al-Mursalaat - 6 Page 580

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا

EN As justification or warning,

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا UR

Al-Mursalaat - 7 Page 580

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ

EN Indeed, what you are promised is to occur.

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 8 Page 580

فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ

EN So when the stars are obliterated

فَإِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 9 Page 580

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ

EN And when the heaven is opened

وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ فُرِجَتْ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 10 Page 580

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ

EN And when the mountains are blown away

وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 11 Page 580

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ

EN And when the messengers' time has come...

وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 12 Page 580

لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ

EN For what Day was it postponed?

لِأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 13 Page 580

لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ

EN For the Day of Judgement.

لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 14 Page 580

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ

EN And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement?

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 15 Page 580

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

EN Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 16 Page 580

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

EN Did We not destroy the former peoples?

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 17 Page 580

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ

EN Then We will follow them with the later ones.

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 18 Page 580

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

EN Thus do We deal with the criminals.

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 19 Page 580

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

EN Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 20 Page 581

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍۢ مَّهِينٍۢ

EN Did We not create you from a liquid disdained?

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقْكُمْ مِنْ مَاءٍ مَهِينٍ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 21 Page 581

فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍۢ مَّكِينٍ

EN And We placed it in a firm lodging

فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَكِينٍ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 22 Page 581

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ

EN For a known extent.

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَعْلُومٍ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 23 Page 581

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَٰدِرُونَ

EN And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine.

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 24 Page 581

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

EN Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 25 Page 581

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا

EN Have We not made the earth a container

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا UR

Al-Mursalaat - 26 Page 581

أَحْيَآءًۭ وَأَمْوَٰتًۭا

EN Of the living and the dead?

أَحْيَاءً وَأَمْوَاتًا UR

Al-Mursalaat - 27 Page 581

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَٰمِخَٰتٍۢ وَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُم مَّآءًۭ فُرَاتًۭا

EN And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water.

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمْ مَاءً فُرَاتًا UR

Al-Mursalaat - 28 Page 581

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

EN Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 29 Page 581

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ

EN [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny.

انْطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ مَا كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 30 Page 581

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّۢ ذِى ثَلَٰثِ شُعَبٍۢ

EN Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns

انْطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلَاثِ شُعَبٍ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 31 Page 581

لَّا ظَلِيلٍۢ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ

EN [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame."

لَا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 32 Page 581

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍۢ كَٱلْقَصْرِ

EN Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress,

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 33 Page 581

كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَٰلَتٌۭ صُفْرٌۭ

EN As if they were yellowish [black] camels.

كَأَنَّهُ جِمَالَتٌ صُفْرٌ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 34 Page 581

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

EN Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 35 Page 581

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ

EN This is a Day they will not speak,

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنْطِقُونَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 36 Page 581

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ

EN Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse.

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 37 Page 581

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

EN Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 38 Page 581

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَٰكُمْ وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

EN This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples.

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 39 Page 581

فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌۭ فَكِيدُونِ

EN So if you have a plan, then plan against Me.

فَإِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 40 Page 581

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

EN Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 41 Page 581

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَٰلٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ

EN Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs

إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُونٍ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 42 Page 581

وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ

EN And fruits from whatever they desire,

وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 43 Page 581

كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

EN [Being told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."

كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 44 Page 581

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

EN Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 45 Page 581

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

EN Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 46 Page 581

كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ

EN [O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals.

كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُمْ مُجْرِمُونَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 47 Page 581

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

EN Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 48 Page 581

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُوا۟ لَا يَرْكَعُونَ

EN And when it is said to them, "Bow [in prayer]," they do not bow.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 49 Page 581

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

EN Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ UR

Al-Mursalaat - 50 Page 581

فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ

EN Then in what statement after the Qur'an will they believe?

فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ UR
