To being a muslims we should know the Prayer is the Pillar of Islam and the root of religious belief and religious actions.
In Arabic the Prayer called a “Salah” or “Salat”, the daily ritual prayer. Salat is the obligatory Muslim prayers, performed five times each day by Muslims. It is the second Pillar of Islam
Allah says in a Holy Quran about the true Believers “Guard” Their Salah:
“…Those who believe in the Hereafter believe in (the Quran), and they are constant in guarding their Salat (prayers).” (6:92)
“And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours).” (23:9, 70:34)
Salah is the major form of worship that a Muslim offers five times a day regularly.
There are many verses in Holy Quran the importance of Salah, some of we are sharing here;
“Verily! I am Allah! La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salat for My Remembrance.” (20:14)
“…Those who believe in the Hereafter believe in (the Quran), and they are constant in guarding their Salat (prayers).” (6:92)
“But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet destruction.” (19:59)
“They (inhabitants of the fire) will say: ‘We were not of those who prayed’.” (74:43)
“Verily, the prayer keeps one from the great sins and evil deeds” (29:45)
Importance of Salah and Prayer is the most important because it allows Muslims to communicate with Allah and all devotions to Allah (SWT).
Salah is to ensure Muslims maintain their faith and devotion to Allah SWT. Salah is to increase taqwah (closeness to Allah SWT).
A Great Reward For Those Who Pray. So Allah says in a Holy Quran beautifully;
“….And the establishers of prayer [especially] and the givers of zakah and the believers in Allah and the Last Day – those We will give a great reward.” (4:162)
